A major part of the joy of Windy Point is the journey up Ski Run Road (aka Hwy 532) to
get there. If you’ve been to Ruidoso, and have yet to make the trek along 532, it is worth
facing any apprehensions you might have. The drive is flat-out gorgeous.
At mile marker 10 you’ll find your reward, and I guarantee that you’ll be drawn to stop
and take in the mountain vista at the Windy Point lookout. It is an absolutely stunning
and breathtaking way to absorb the gorgeous beauty of Ruidoso and the Sierra Blanca
mountain range. I have included some of the pictures that my family and I took while
on a visit in July, 2007.
Directions:
- Head north of Ruidoso on Highway 48 (Mechem Blvd in town)
- Take a left at Ski Run Road (Highway 532).
