The Perfect Way to Unwind - The Hot Tub!

OK - so this is the *real* reason that we like to come to our cabin, and share it with you! (When you're looking for Ruidoso New Mexico Cabin Rentals, you'll want to have a hottub!) The hot tub provides a wonderful way to end the perfect day of hiking, biking, skiing, horse-racing, or shopping. It's large enough to fit three to four folks comfortably, and is sunken into the back deck, so its a perfect addition to allow everyone to be together while cooking on the grill, or talking about the day's activities.

Wildlife!

Another great reason that we enjoy sharing our mountain hideaway with you has to do with the wildlife of Ruidoso. This one was shot from our front porch. We should point out... We don't have the deer under contract, so you never know what you're going to see! However, we do have a feeding bucket on the vacant lot (which is also ours), so when you come, make sure to stop off and buy some feed!

Greet the Morning Wildlife in Comfort - The Front Deck

The generous front deck is wonderful for greeting the beautiful mountain mornings, listening to the birds, or spying out for some deer. (We think this is another reason why our Ruidoso Cabin is one of the best places to stay in Ruidoso New Mexico!) Included is a front porch swing, as well as a bistro table and a couple of chairs (not shown).

Re-connect with Yourself, Friends, and Family - Back Deck

The equally generous back deck is wonderful when you want to connect with the mountains in total seclusion. A perfect place to start the day, read a book, or catch up with the ones you love. Not shown in this picture, we have added an outdoor table with four chairs which makes eating outside a wonderful experience as well.

Burnt Offerings 'R Us

Fire is Cool! Well, at least, when its contained under a nice slice of beef, or a freshly caught fish. (Don't go catching the forest on fire...) The grill is gas, and has one propane tank.

Note: The fact that the grill is gas is a very good thing. In the summer, if the rainfall is low, gas grills may be the only ones permitted for use.

Bird Lover's Paradise

Yet another reason we feel this is one of the finest Cabin Rentals Located in Ruidoso New Mexico is the opportunities for bird watching on the back deck. The deck is about 10-12 feet above the ground, so it puts you slightly below the tree tops. My wife and I love to sit out here and watch the woodpeckers and Stellar's Jays light on the tree limbs. If you make sure to put out sunflower seeds, some peanuts, and fill the hummingbird feeder with nectar, you will be sure to have some happy visitors. You may even get a sighting of our funny squirrel, who likes to chase the birds when they land in the trees!

Home Away from Home - The Kitchen

Open design with the living room. Well stocked, with all cookware and utinsels you'll need for doing any task in the kitchen, from microwaving hot dogs to preparing a home cooked meal for all of your friends and family. Includes gas stove and oven, toaster oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Complete with a view to the street, which you will amaze at the fact that so few cars drive by (and for the ones that do, it's kinda fun to watch them make their way up the hill!)

Home Away from Home (Part 2) - The Living Room

Open design with the kitchen. Nice cozy furniture arrangement, including our favorite piece - a leather couch from American Leather. This couch includes a hide-a-bed that will shock and amaze you (well, those words may be a bit strong!). The bed folds out to be a king-size, with a nice, comfortable three piece foam mattress. No springs in your back on this one. It is almost like sleeping on a real mattress.

The Place to Munch! - The Dining Room

Open design with kitchen and living room. Seating for 6 people, and a view toward the back of the house, where you can watch the hummingbirds come right up to the feeder (while they're in season, and the feeder has fresh nectar, of course!)

Reading by the Fire - The Stove

Arranged nicely with the living room furniture is the wood burning stove. He's a bit funky, with that orange top, but he can really crank out the heat, and the view of the fire while watching TV, reading a book, or talking with your soul mate is wonderfully energizing. The TV includes VCR, DVD, and DISH Network, with access to local channels, Discovery channel, and movie channels.

Master Bedroom (The Horse Room)

We like to choose a theme for each of our three bedrooms. This one is the "Horse Room", complete with decorations to match, with a southwest flair. The bed is a king-size frame, made of pine, and the mattress has a pillow top for maximum comfort. This room includes a window air-conditioning unit, private bathroom, and walk-in closet.

Second Bedroom (The Squaw Room)

Nicely decorated with reproductions of pieces from popular southwest artists, this one is just as cozy as the master. It also has a king-sized bed with pillow top mattress for comfortable sleeping. This room includes a ceiling fan.

Third Bedroom (The Nature Room)

This one is great for the kids! Includes full-size bed with pine headboard. Generous closet space is included in this room as well.

SNOW!

This was taken on April 12, 2004. For all I know, it was the last snow storm of the year, and what a storm! 9" in one night. This was a great day to go play in the snow, and take a hike just around the area of the cabin. With all of that snow, we were still able to drive into town, as the roads are regularly patrolled by snow plows. In addition to that, we have a service that will take care of the driveway for you as well. (Contact the Management company if and when needed.)
